How do they do it?Do they hit themselves with something?
I think they use a whip or somethiong like that!!
No, somebody else whips them. They think they are paying for their sins and sharing in the pain of Christ when he was whipped. Guess they don’t believe Jesus’ sacrifice was enough to pay for their sins, even though God said it was. As for me, I’ll take God at His word and spare myself the needless pain.
This is a picture from Ashura ceremony in Iraq or Iran. These are Shia muslims who hit themselves with metal chains to be reminded of the sacrifice Imam Hussein (the 3rd Imam of Shia muslims and the grand son of prophet muhammad).
This is a stupid practice among extreme religious people.
